Five Years Later: A Thank You to Our Community

by Amanda Helgoe, PT, DPT | May 11, 2026 | About Bodyworks Physical Therapy

Five years ago, on May 11th, 2021, our world changed in a matter of hours.

Many of you remember the day that a fire tore through our building, destroying much of the space we had built over the years. Like many others, we stood outside and watched it unfold, unsure of what would come next.

In the days that followed, there were a lot of unknowns. But one thing became clear very quickly, we were not going through it alone.

The Power of Community

Before we had a plan fully in place, we had support. We had people reaching out, offering help, sharing resources, and simply showing up for us. The generosity we experienced during that time is something I will never forget.

Within days, we were able to reopen in a temporary space. We had equipment donated, space offered, and a team that was ready to keep moving forward together.

Looking back on that time, the support still amazes me.

Keeping What Mattered Most

In the middle of everything, my biggest focus was our team. We had just experienced something difficult and unexpected, and it was important to me that we stayed together. That we supported each other and kept showing up for our patients and our community.

We weren’t just rebuilding a clinic, we were protecting the culture and care that make Bodyworks what it is. And that never changed.

Where We Are Today

Today, we’re in our space in South Fargo, a place that was already in the works before the fire, but has taken an even deeper meaning since.

We’ve grown, we’ve expanded, and we continue to do the work we care deeply about, helping people move better and feel like themselves again.

But more than anything, we’re steady. What started as a devastating setback became a turning point, and that’s because of the people around us.

Thank You

To our patients, our partners, and our community, a simple thank you doesn’t seem adequate.

Thank you for your support, your encouragement, your trust over the years, and for showing up for us when we needed it most.

Five years later, we’re doing well. And we don’t take that for granted. We’re grateful to still be here, to still be serving this community, and to keep moving forward together.

With deep gratitude,

Amanda Helgoe
