A concussion is a mild traumatic brain injury that can lead to a multitude of symptoms. Most of the time the symptoms resolve on their own, but in some situations, they can persist past 1-2 months and lead to what’s referred to as Post-Concussion Syndrome. Symptoms may include headaches, dizziness, fatigue, anxiety, reduced concentration/memory, ringing in the ears, and/or sensitivity to light and sound.
At Bodyworks, we can help to treat some of the symptoms of Post-Concussion Syndrome. We use manual therapy techniques to address neck pain and tension to reduce or resolve headaches in addition to range of motion exercises and stretches. We also can help with dizziness and sensitivity to movement which typically limits you from enjoying your favorite activities and hobbies. Treatment involves graded head or body movements and eye exercises to improve your body’s ability to tolerate movement again. We are here to offer relief during a time when you are healing from the stress of a trauma.
